Michigan weekend itinerary: a two-day plan

This plan covers the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Motown Museum on day one and Sleeping Bear Dunes on day two. It is an editorial sequence from official sources. We verified no driving time between the places; they are far apart, so check a map.

Day 1: Detroit

  1. Detroit Institute of Arts, free for residents of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties; closed Mondays; confirm hours and visitor prices.
  2. Motown Museum, guided tour only, about one hour, on a ticket for a specific date and time.

Day 2: Sleeping Bear Dunes

  1. Vehicle pass, $25 for 1–7 days; there is no fee to drive the county and state roads through the park.
